Dose changes from nerve damage
November 3, 2026

In one study, 293 people (30.7%) had their chemotherapy dose changed because of CIPN, which is nerve damage caused by chemo.
A 2024 study by Park and colleagues in JAMA Network Open looked at CIPN, which is nerve damage caused by chemotherapy. The authors reported that 293 participants, or 30.7%, had their treatment dose changed because of CIPN. This means nerve damage from chemo can affect more than the symptoms you feel. It can also change the treatment plan itself. If you notice nerve changes during treatment, talk to your care team.
